Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) Safeguarding Learning, Training & Development

Leicester and Leicestershire & Rutland Safeguarding Children Partnerships (SCPs) work together to provide a multi-agency safeguarding children training programme along with other learning and development. This is to support all who work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

Learning, development and training opportunities can support individuals, managers and organisations in understanding and undertaking their safeguarding roles and responsibilities in a confident, competent and committed manner.

We have loosely split our offer into three areas:

LEARNING: This includes any resources that can be used individually or in teams, and film clips that are relevant to safeguarding topics.

TRAINING: This is our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children Training Programme, and also learning provided by our partners, including e-learning. 

DEVELOPMENT: This considers how you can develop yourself and others and primarily focusses on the LLR Safeguarding Children Competency Framework, which allows those who work or volunteer with children to understand the level of safeguarding learning required.

The responsibility for organising safeguarding learning belongs to individual organisations. However, there are a range of specialist safeguarding events and other related learning that can support multi–agency safeguarding across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. This programme covers safeguarding from prevention and early help through to child protection.

The SCPs Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children Training Programme is funded by both SCPs & local partners. Therefore, the programme is designed to meet the learning needs within Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. To be sustainable, there may be a charge to attend and this is set out in the Charging Policy.

Please note that we only share the information that you give when you register for training purposes including statistical information requests from your agency/authority.
